My name is Stephanie Logan and I am the owner of Sheep Camp Quilts. We are located between Shoshoni and Riverton, Wyoming in Fremont County, the heart of Wyoming, in an area surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges and high desert regions. We are close to the Wind River Indian Reservation, Wind River Casino (and others), Thermopolis (home of the world's largest mineral hot springs), Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, and other tourist destinations.
We are proud to serve the strong quilting community of greater Fremont County, which we have done since our inception in 2007. While our mailing address may be Shoshoni, Wyoming, we are actually located closer to Riverton, a community of 10,000 souls. Our location is nestled in a very attractive farming valley known as Paradise Valley. Green fields, sagebrush, and farm land lie next to each other creating a patchwork of land uses, including raising alfalfa (Fremont County, Wyoming is known for growing perhaps the absolute best alfalfa hay in the nation), sugar beets, bean crops, barley, oats, sheep, horses, and many cattle herds, to name a few.
Because of our rural location, we work hard to make your visit to our shop a fun, friendly, and memorable one. The shop itself was the veterinary clinic of my husband, Jim Logan, who left private practice to take the position as Wyoming's State Veterinarian. Prior to the building being used as a veterinary clinic, it was the barn/lambing shed for our flock of purebred Columbia sheep! Don't worry, there is nothing left to remind you of its original uses, except for the stuffed sheep found throughout the store, the floor that slopes toward a drain, and the sheep wagon found outside the front of the shop.
Inside you'll find batiks, reproduction prints, wildlife and landscape prints, modern and retro fabrics, all mixed with a touch of basics. We offer many of the popular design houses' patterns, books, and notions, along with the tried and true basic necessities for anyone's quilting needs. We have around 1000 bolts of fabric, housed in a comfortable, welcoming place, staffed with folks who like people and who especially like quilting!
Sheep Camp tried to make the move to online sales in 2013 but found our customers felt there is just no substitute for touching, smelling, and soaking in the fabric and atmosphere of a Real store! Plus, our friendly staff loves helping you pull together just the right fabrics to make your next project perfect! Now, that's something you just can't do in your jammies at midnight on your computer. While we do not offer online shopping at this point, we will not limit ourselves by saying we will never try it again. But, for now, if you need something sent to you, call us! We'll try to help you out over the phone.
So, welcome, come on in and make yourself at home! We're glad you are here!
